Arena of Thebes is an adult gay visual novel. Its focus lies on atmospheric and filmic storytelling. This means lots of fully fleshed out cg artworks supported by atmospheric sounds. Arena of Thebes is a kinetic novel and has therefore no player choices impacting the story at this time.
Story
A group of guys unexpectedly find themselves thrown into a social study. Locked up with no escape and little privacy while pitted against each other in athletic competitions. Enter the arena and experience this exploration of male relations in conflict, companionship, romance and physical intimacy.
Versions
This is the public version of Arena of Thebes. The public version has censored full frontal nudity on the newest chapters. You can still enjoy the full story and some butts in all chapters with chapters getting uncensored over time.

Uncensored chapters will be released over time. For immediate early access you'll have to check out the Patreon page.
idk if anyone else has this issue but from chapter 4 onwards all the nudity is censored? Theres no setting to turn it back on or anything?
Haven't played it, but he does mention that half the game is uncensored and the other half is censored with the uncensored part being available in Patreon, so for example once chapter 8 is released on Patreon, chapter 4 will be available here with no censorship.

Thanks for the huge compliment! I aim to have a variety of different styles but am also experimenting with having the option to choose hair amount so you might even get to see hairy variations of previously clean shaven guys in the future.

Cool chapter, lot of "action", but I'd say this is the shortest chapter so far... Looking forward to chapter 7.
Hey, glad you liked it! From the image count this chapter sits at average, but I can see how one could get through it a lot quicker with less dialog between parings of two. Chapter 7 will be a lot bigger as the group unites with lot of new assets and perhaps some new mechanics which will be tested in a demo set in the same universe and coming out real soon. There's not one singular main character, so will you have pretty much all perspectives.
I need to ask - which tier I must pay to get the pool blowjob picture/set (the last one right above the Patreon link here)? Must it be Gold tier or is Silver one enough? The tier descriptions are not specific. If photoshoot means that all pics are solo and hookup are the only ones with more guys, then it's a shame.
Hey, thanks for asking I guess I should add some more clarification with some more teasers in the future. There has been some deviations in the almost 2 years of bonus content but the majority of pictures includes 2 guys. The bronze and silver shoots are clothed and unclothed variations of guys mainly posing with each other. The gold hookups feature more explicit acts such as the pool set you've were asking about. As of now that specific set is only available in the gold tier but as the library of sets has been growing there might be some future discounted packs of previously released sets.

Fuck, I wanna be locked up with Sean! HAHA! The game is very much captivating! Most chapters are censored, but I'm not bothered at all because the story is interesting enough. And the non existence of choices is not felt at all, I don't feel the need to have choices and control the story because the story is sufficiently satisfying. It is indeed giving filmic atmosphere and storytelling. I'm very much excited for the future chapters and uncensored cg artworks. Thank you so much for this wonderful work!

Arena of Thebes is a kinetic novel, which means it doesn't offer choices that impact the story. The focus is on delivering a rich, atmospheric narrative with detailed CG artworks and immersive sounds. There aren't any player choices at this time, the experience is designed to be filmic and engaging and an experimental form of visual novel. After much reader feedback such as yours, it is however in the midst of extensive updates which will introduce choices while retaining its previous design decisions. Stay tuned for upcoming releases that are right around the corner.
Can't wait. The cliffhanger in the end is huge. I need to know what happens next several months ago. :)

Hello , i found a problem.
Your chapter 5 public zip, upon executing the .exe launcher , triggers a virus alert for a trojan/phonsy virus (Trojan:Win32/Phonzy.B!ml) . Idk if it's coming from the download from itch.io directly or from your side. i'd recommend taking a look onto it.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. First I've heard of it, though. I've downloaded it again myself and compared it to the zip I uploaded and there are no changes made so this is most likely a false positive from your antivirus detection. After some quick research it looks like this issue has been popping up with the newest renpy version which I also updated to. I'll take a further look to see if I can prevent it from falsely popping up again. Or I might need to switch back to an older renpy version.

This game is so interesting, the plot is sooooo fun! This may be unusual but I kinda want Number 14(bloodied boy) and Mathew(name spelled wrong probably) to get together, I mean the cold, unfeeling guy and the wacky, non serious but actually smart guy is such a good pair😩🫶 all in all I just can't wait for more!!!! I'm craving for more chapters!! Thank you for making such a great game!!

When I try to install it on Windows (11) it says I'm missing an app that I need to open the application. Does anyone know what that might be? This isn't the only game it's done that to, but not all the ones I've downloaded give me that error either. Please help :c
Hm, that's weird. Should be everything included in the zip folder to run. Does it say what's missing specifically? Perhaps there is some required windows file missing or not up to date.
It just tries to take me into the Microsoft store to find a missing application, but it just says the app it was looking for can't be found.
I just ended up downloading it onto my tablet and it works just fine
